Affinity Fuels

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you new to ordering oil and unsure where to start? Don't worry - we’ve compiled a handy guide to cover the essentials, from tank sizes and order amounts to fuel types and guidelines on tank maintenance.

Which oil should I order and how much should I buy?

Boilers typically use kerosene ("Domestic Heating oil" or "28-second oil"). We also supply Premium Kerosene, which boosts efficiency and is preferred by AGA owners. If you’re unsure which heating oil you should be ordering please check with your boiler service engineer. Legally, the minimum order is 500 litres, with additional quantities in 50-litre increments.

What happens if I order too much?

The driver will fill your tank up to your ordered amount, ensuring the delivery is safe. You’ll only be charged for the amount successfully delivered. If you overpay for your heating oil, the difference will be credited back to your original payment method after account reconciliation.

When will I receive my refund?

After you have received your delivery and have been invoiced; refunds are processed within 5 workings days after your monthly statement, confirming the credit value to be returned. Statements are sent around the 15th of every month.

How do I pay for my order?

You pay Affinity Fuels directly. You can either pay by debit or credit card at the time of order.

Do I need to be at home for delivery?

As long as there is clear access to your tank, our suppliers can deliver your heating oil without you being present. You will be left a delivery note which is normally placed through the letter box.

Are my heating oil deliveries provided by Affinity Fuels?

Your delivery will arrive from one of our trusted suppliers in a tanker designed to cope with rural locations. Standard tankers are 10ft x 29 ft and can access areas with no route restrictions. 4-wheelers are smaller at 9 x 24ft for locations with restricted access.

How do I know I’ve received the amount of oil I ordered?

Every oil tanker has a meter, which is frequently checked and approved by trading standards. The delivery ticket records the start reading, end reading, and the quantity dispensed. You can also have a tank monitoring device fitted to keep track of the quantity of heating oil in the tank for your peace of mind.
